| Florida State law requires that schools be in session for a
minimum of 180 days. Attendance is compulsory in Florida between the sixth and 16th
birthday. All students are required to complete kindergarten prior to enrollment in grade one. The minimum legal entry age for kindergarten is age five on or before September 1 of the current school year. For those students who transfer into the district from schools outside the state of Florida, the district honors the entry age of those states. The names and locations of schools serving a particular residential area may be obtained by calling the Boundary Office at 434-8100. |
Registration Requirements Proof of immunization against diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), tetanus, mumps, measles (rubella) and German measles (rubella) is required of all students K-12. The dates for these immunizations must be presented on Certificate of Immunization - DH Form 680 (11/96). The immunization entry requirements for kindergarten /elementary school students are: DPT (diptheria/whooping cough/tetanus) - 5 doses Polio (IPV-OPV) 4 doses MMR (measles/mumps/rubella - combined or singularly) - 2 doses. A second measles shot is required however, a second MMR is suggested. Hepatitis B - 3 shot series |
